Visiting care for your loves ones in Manchester
What is live-in care?

Live-in care is a popular alternative to residential care as it enables individuals to maintain their safety and independence within the comfort of their own home. Live-in care provides around the clock support and assistance and allows more choice and control over the way individuals are cared for. With live-in care, a dedicated carer will be on hand to provide support with preparing meals, maintain a routine, assist with medication, provide companionship and to ensure emergency assistance is readily available 24 hours a day.

Live-in care can be a more cost-effective service compared to residential care and offers greater flexibility with meal times and schedules, allowing individuals to remain in a familiar environment, maintaining their daily routines.  Additionally, carers can engage individuals in activities such as board games, arts and crafts, and other hobbies. The familiarity of the environment makes live-in dementia care particularly beneficial for those with dementia or similar needs.

What does a live-in carer do?

Personal and Incontinence Care

Help with personal care can include toileting, washing or bathing, dressing, hair, oral and skin care. Incontinence care is for those in need of extra support to maintain and manage incontinence, reducing the risk of infection. A trained carer will be on hand to support with managing incontinence pads, catheters, stoma bags, convenes and commodes whilst maintaining dignity and respect at all times

Medication Management

A significant number of individuals accessing health and social care services rely on medications to treat or manage various medical conditions or to enhance their overall well-being. At Fine Care, our trained carers are available to prompt, remind or administer your medication safely and in a way that reduces the risk of error and harm.

Mobility Support

Whether you’re using a wheelchair, recovering from an injury or illness that confines you to bed, or managing a neurological or joint condition, mobility care aims to provide the necessary support to enhance your quality of life.

Meal Preparation and Diet Planning

As we age, our nutritional needs change, and it becomes even more important to ensure that our diets are well-balanced and tailored to support our health and well-being. At Fine Care, our highly skilled carers are available to assist you to plan and prepare nutritious meals based on your dietary requirements, wishes and preferences.

Light housekeeping

Often, age-related frailty, disability, or illness can make it challenging to manage household chores. At Fine Care, our outstanding live-in carers are here to help you to manage and maintain your home. They provide assistance with housekeeping tasks including laundry, cleaning, mopping, gardening and even caring for your much loved pets.

Companionship and friendship

Companionship in older adults not only improves mental and physical wellbeing but also reduces the risk of depression often caused by loneliness and isolation.  Your private carer will be on hand to support you at home or to accompany you to the shops, days out in the community, visiting friends and family, attending lunch clubs or church events.

  • Do I have a choice of carer?
Absolutely! The idea of using this service is so that you have more choice and control over the care that you need. Once we have all the information about you, with regard to your care needs, wishes and preferences, we will carefully select and match carers that meet your requirements.
  • What training do the carers have?
All of our private carers hold up to date mandatory training to include (and not limited to) moving and handling, infection control, medication management, safeguarding vulnerable adults and basic life support. Carers will only be matched with families according to their suitability, knowledge and skills.
  • What locations do you cover?
We have a large number of registered carers that live and work across the UK, however, for visiting care we will only select local carers for your choose from.
  • What if I am not happy with the carer?
Finding the right carer that fits in with your needs, lifestyle and personality is our priority. However, if you are not happy, please contact us immediately. We will promptly address your concerns and, if necessary, arrange for a different carer to ensure you receive the best possible care.
  • How many hours does a visiting carer work?
Our private visiting carers are locally sourced and will work a minimum of one hour per day.
  • How much does visiting care cost?
Depending on the location, level and type of care that is required, our private carers charge from £25 per hour.
  • Are the carers DBS checked?
Yes! It is paramount that all of our private carers are registered on the DBS update service. For safeguarding and compliance purposes, all carers must undergo rigorous checks to ensure they have up to date training, insurance and employment reference checks to ensure suitability for each placement.
